Job Title: Skate Park Kitchen Assistant
Renumeration: £10.94 per hour
Hours of Work: Wednesday and Thursday 5.00pm-7.30pm
Responsible to: Development Manager.
Job Description
To prepare and cook food and snacks for the young people and other users and maintain the cleanliness of the Lodge as a whole. Demonstrate commitment to the staff team and young people to help create positive developments within the Charity.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare the kitchen for opening, prepare and cook any food and snacks required for the young people and other users of the Lodge.

Perform temperature checks on refrigerators and freezers.

Prepare food orders as they are received throughout the shift, ensuring all young people receive their food to an excellent standard and in a timely manner.

Ensure food is prepared within Health & Hygiene regulations.

Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen carrying out regular checks and cleaning of all equipment, including changing fryer oil.

Replenish stock during and at the end of every shift, notifying the Centre Manager when stock levels become low.

Collect and wash all crockery, utensils, and clean tables, helping to maintain the cleanliness of the Lodge as a whole.

Follow the daily cleaning guide to ensure the kitchen is always left clean.

Report all problems encountered whilst working to the Development Manager.

Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably expected by the Development Manager.

Adhere to the Charity’s uniform policy, at all times.

Work in accordance with the Charity’s policies and procedures in respect of Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Code of Conduct.

Respect all users of the facility and work as a crucial member of the team to develop the Lodge to its full potential.

Person Specification – Skate Park Kitchen Assistant
Personal Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate
well with young people.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team of paid and voluntary staff.
- Willingness to be flexible with regards to workloads and shifts.
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of working in a kitchen, preparing and cooking food.
- Some experience of working with young people.
- First aid qualification and basic food hygiene certificate preferred although not essential as training will be provided.
Attitude
- Motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic.
- Commitment to the staff team and young people to help create positive developments within the Charity.
- Trustworthy and reliable with the ability to maintain a level of confidentiality.
- Friendly, welcoming and able to form positive relationships with young people.

Circumstance
The successful candidate will undergo checks with the Disclosure Barring Service.
