About the Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor with extensive experience in the nuclear and construction industies to join our Decommissioning Projects business. This role will be based either in our Birchwood office in Warrington or Scrabster office in Caithness, but there will be a need for site deployments, as projects require.

The Decommissioning business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, engineering, and project management support, along with delivery of challenging decommissioning related EPC projects, to major clients in the UK across both the civil nuclear and defence industries, including Dounreay, Sellafield Limited, Urenco and Magnox.

We are very proud to have supported these clients for many years, and our partnering arrangements will enable us to sustain and enhance this support in the long-term. We also deliver a number of projects for other private companies and academia needing decommissioning solutions.

You will be an experienced site supervisor with a proven capability to lead and coordinate site activities to support decommissioning and construction projects. Primary expertise will be in the management of site teams and supervision of subcontractors. This will include skills to prepare site management documentation such as risk assessments and method statements, along with quality plans relating the site activities. You will be Jacobs representative at the workface and will be responsible for monitoring the works in line with agreed safety documentation and keeping detailed and effective site records for all activities. You will also have commercial awareness to oversee subcontractor works, monitoring progress and driving forward safe delivery in line with project schedules.

You will provide safety leadership to all the works undertaken and demonstrate appropriate behaviors and values and also support the Project Manager in the delivery of the works ensuring delivery to time, quality and cost.

The role will be a mixture of site and office-based activities with direct involvement and supervision for some projects, and others providing more managerial support to co-ordinate and control works.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Self-starter with a professional leadership approach and a construction or trades background
  • Proven experience within a nuclear or highly regulated environment.
  • Proven experience of team working
  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate information both verbally and in written format
  • Ability to interface and liaise with key client and internal stakeholders
  • Experience of a range of project requirements from construction activities to decommissioning operations
  • Appropriate trades background with experience in project delivery with a strong Nuclear content.
  • CSCS card and other demonstratable safety training
