We have a fantastic opportunity for a Site Manager to be based at our site in Bristol

Due to the nature of the role, we are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Bath, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Stroud, Stonehouse, Cirencester, Salisbury, Bath, Chippenham and the surrounding areas.

The role of Site Manager is a role you will be required to work Monday - Friday but with flexibility should a business need arise.

Role Responsibility

The Site Manager will work within the civil engineering team. We are looking to hear from candidates who have worked in a similar industry and have previous experience of working on Civil Engineering projects. You may have worked under such titles as a Site Agent, a Construction Manager or Building Manager to name a few.

On a day to day basis, the successful Site Manager's responsibilities will include (not exhaustive) the following:

  • Promoting and leading the site safety culture; ensuring that all works are carried out in a planned, controlled and safe manner

  • Complying with all HSQE systems; implementing these on site

  • Managing and measuring on site productivity and performance

  • Managing procurement and performance of sub-contractors

  • Ensuring that works' activities are carried out efficiently

  • Maintaining and developing customer relationships

  • Optimising targeted financial contribution for the scheme

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant in the role of Site Manager will have an Engineering background with experience of Highways/Road Construction projects.

We are looking to hear from candidates who are in receipt of the following:

  • ESSENTIAL - A good understanding of current methods and up to date knowledge of specifications and contract principles, including the Specification of Highway Works

  • ESSENTIAL - Demonstrable personal and organisational skills

  • DESIRABLE - High level Commercial acumen

  • DESIRABLE - Proven communication and IT skills

  • DESIRABLE - Self-motivation and be able to prioritise and manage workload

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • DESIRABLE - Preferably a further education qualification e.g. Degree or HND/HNC (ideally relatable to Civil Engineering)

  • DESIRABLE - CSCS qualification

  • DESIRABLE - SMSTS

  • DESIRABLE - First Aid at work
