Are you a Sign Language Translator looking for your next career adventure? Are you passionate about supporting our organisation and the people we support in a variety of tasks? Do you want a career that is fulfilling and rewarding, where you can realise your full potential?

Let’s tell you about the Role.

This is a role with challenge, growth, and purpose at its heart. It’s a role that not only facilitates efficient communication amongst staff within the organisation, but will allow our BSL users to have access to wider areas of our organisation with your assistance.

You will translate written text and the spoken word on video to British Sign Language (BSL) for deaf people who use BSL as their first language and who may not comprehend the grammar of written and/or spoken English. Alongside this, other daily activities may include translating information from English to BSL for letters, forms, video content and much more.

The goals and ambitions of our staff and the people we support are at the forefront of all that we do, and you will play a huge part in making this happen, we call it ‘Sharing Moments. Shaping Lives’.

At Achieve together, we see this as more than a job, this is the start of your career journey with us. With 75% of our managers promoted from within, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and reach your full potential. Not forgetting, we also offer a wide range of benefits that include:

  • Flexible working opportunities to suit you
  • Recognition schemes, team events and social activities
  • Employee discount schemes across a range of retailers and services
  • Staff incentive schemes such as Refer a Friend, Employee of the Month and Heroes Awards
  • Ongoing development and training to support your career progression with us
  • Employee welfare and wellbeing initiatives

Let’s Hear About You.

You will be a Registered with the National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf people (NRCPD) and will have proven work experience as a BSL Translator, Interpreter or similar role, with fluency in both English and BSL. You will have excellent proofreading skills with ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. You will be familiar with content editing tools and translation software. So, if you want to start, or continue your career journey in care with us, we want to hear from you. Be part of our team, Sharing Moments. Shaping Lives.
