Created to share our knowledge and passion with people who are just like us; crazy about their dogs and cats. We are almost entirely direct-to-customer and all orders are made through our website.
We are looking for an exceptional Shopify Developer who has a track record of successfully delivering development projects with a demonstrated history of working across industries, both in large companies and in small founder-led businesses.
This is a key strategy and execution position for a seasoned developer who will take the lead in the technical team to generate high quality projects and deliver extraordinary performance.
This position works from LUNA & me headquarters in Beaminster, Dorset, and reports to the Founder.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Uphold LUNA & me’s ethics and values.
Candidates must have proven experience in Shopify development and should be extremely well-versed in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript languages.
We are looking for someone who see the bigger picture, not just your immediate task list in front of you to ensure projects are running smoothly, proactively looking to innovate, streamline processes and push the boundaries of our website.
This position is not for the faint hearted. We’re growing and we need someone on board who can contribute new ideas, produce high quality development work and be part of our close knit team.

Role and responsibilities:
The development of an industry-leading website and digital experiences.
Taking design and converting them into our Shopify site.
Innovation; constantly looking for better ways to do things by keeping up to date with the latest developments in the industry.
Championing process across the team, ensuring coding standards and best practices are followed.
Ensuring all development work is fully tested before review.
Liaising with the management team to give progress updates and escalate any issues.
Working as part of a wider team.
Qualifications:
Must have development experience with Shopify front and back end (min 2+ years).
A proven track record in web development.
3+ years developing websites using HTML, SCSS, CSS and Javascript.
Well-versed in Twig/Liquid templating languages (min 2+ years).
Proven track record setting up stores and ongoing maintenance.
A great working knowledge of JavaScript (including jQuery framework).
Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Appreciation for clean and readable code.
Strong team player who has the ability to use their initiative and self-manage.
Experience working with PHP frameworks such as Symfony/Yii.
Demonstrable skills in implementing a responsive e-commerce website.
Working knowledge of industry trends, best practices and new tech.
A working understanding of CLI’s and developer tools.
Ability to work with, and troubleshoot issues with third-party code, API’s and services.
Ability to debug yours and others code efficiently.
An understanding of website performance and optimisation.
Experience building, modifying or working with private and Shopify apps.
Producing high quality, clean code which is easy for other team members to continue to develop.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £20,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
