We are looking for a energetic, flexible part time Shop Assistant, the role will best suit someone who is also extremely active and up to speed with posting social media content on FB, Instagram and TikTok including videos, the role will involve working 2-3 days a week – Monday & Saturday with one day from home with social media content and you Must also be flexible to cover holidays, this is a MUST.

We therefore have a part time vacancy for a new member of the team. We’re looking for a polite, energetic and friendly individual, with an approachable CAN-DO attitude (this is a must) to join the team, who will be based in our shop close to Barnsley town centre.
You must have good punctuality, be willing to learn, use your initiative and have a passion for animals (mainly dogs) and health in general.
sure4pets Ltd specialises in and promotes a Species Appropriate Raw Food diet for dogs and cats (SARF).
The only source of food for dogs and cats as carnivores, we provide is raw meat, bone and offal, including whole animal or animal parts. Therefore, this role would best be suitable to someone who isn’t squeamish.
First and foremost, the health and wellbeing of the animal is most important. But we then also pride ourselves on excellent customer service and satisfaction. We want the visit at sure4pets to be an experience people don’t receive anywhere else.
The Ideal candidates Main duties will include:
- Customer service – (this may include passing on the knowledge you acquire at sure4pets to our new and existing customers, regarding SARF diets and the dog as a species)
- General cleaning/moping after dogs
- Cleaning and re stocking freezers
- Stock control and management
- Stocking shelves and merchandise
- Answering calls in a friendly appropriate manner
- Taking & picking orders ready for dispatch
- Serving customers – including operating the till and card machine
- Assisting customers
- Creating and posting on social media, photos, videos and information for sure4pets, products & events, etc, it may evolve.

In return sure4pets will provide the training – knowledge and support required to promote what is known as a S.A.R.F (Species Appropriate Raw Food) diet to both new and existing customers, in what can be a fast-paced working environment – no two days are the same. You will also be assured to get lots of doggy cuddles.
Working Conditions
- This role includes regular, medium to heavy lifting of stock; when stock is delivered to us, stock rotation and providing the ‘carry out’ service to customers.
- The majority of our stock is stored in freezers, so there will be regular exposure of hands and arms to cold temperatures.
Contracted hours of work
Monday 8:30am – 5pm
Saturday 9am – 4pm
1 in the week for Social media work (this can be suited around the successful applicant)
Arrival time at work and to the shop, is 10 minutes before start of the shift, this is to ensure we are ready and prepared for the days trading – in this time you will be expected to ensure that the shop is fully stocked & you are clocked in and the shop is ready to open. This is one of our company policies.
