Shipping Co Ordinator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shipping Coordinator based at a leading pump manufacturer in Leeds, West Yorkshire
Purpose of the role
> Working within a small team, based as an onsite implant. You will undertake all aspects of the Import and Export shipping and associated administration for both Pump Parts and New Business Divisions of the business.
Main duties and responsibilities
> Preparing all required export shipping documentation including invoices and advise clients/end users of availability of goods for Ex Works and FCA shipments
> Arranging the dispatch of domestic UK deliveries & any collections from UK suppliers.
> Arranging/supervising shipping for overseas prepaid freight consignments via courier or 3rdparty forwarders.
> Issuing Import Clearance Instructions to couriers/forwarders as required.
> Communicating directly with stake holders, Freight Providers and Transport Suppliers.
> Arranging the Import Shipping of parts into UK from worldwide origins.
> Understanding of Customs processes including Inward Processing (IP)
> Maintaining reports and respond to any queries as they arise, in a timely manner.
> Any other reasonable duties appropriate with the level of the post, which may be required from time to time.
Person specification
> Excellent communication skills (both verbal and in writing)
> Hold Level 3/A Level Qualifications, or equivalent experience (essential).
> Knowledge and experience of either Import /exports or both.
> Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
> A good level of numeracy and be commercially aware of the sector.
> A good understanding of current Health and Safety Regulations.
> A high level of IT Skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Cargowise.
> Experience in using complex IT systems, training will be offered for programs such as SAP and Cargobase (a web-based freight quotation tool)
> A proven ability to perform under pressure.
> Strong organisational skills with an attention to detail.
> Ability to work on own initiative; prioritise and manage own workload.
> Excellent customer service skills.
> Ability to develop key working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
> Good time management and the ability to work to multiple deadlines
> Self- motivated and able to work well as part of a team
> A creative approach to problem solving; be able to think ’outside the box’
> A flexible approach to work, and the ability to respond to changing demands.
Shift pattern:
> Full time
> Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 16:30hrs
