Shipping Coordinator Required. Our client is the premier fine art handling, shipping, and storage company in the UK. They provide a comprehensive art handling, transport, and logistics service to our clients. Working with our other departments, the Shipping team have a critical role helping to organise the international transportation of fine art, antiques, and collectors’ items to and from the UK, and ensuring that clients comply with all customs, import and export regulations.
They are now looking for an experienced Shipping Coordinator to join their team based in Leyton or Canary Warf.
Shipping Coordinator – Position Overview
· Prepare freight documentation for import and export consignments moving by air, road, and ocean freight.
· Acknowledge and manage job bookings from project coordinators.
· Advise project coordinators of available flights/vessels, routes, freight rates and charges and recommend the best option.
· Liaising with project coordinators, airport operations staff, and other departments - transport, warehouse, finance - to ensure the smooth running of jobs.
Shipping Coordinator – Position Requirements
· At least 2 years’ experience within the freight forwarding industry.
· Experience making customs declarations in CHIEF.
· Experience making customs declarations in CDS.
· Knowledge of customs procedures and processes.
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to manage time and see projects through to completion
· Flexible & co-operative approach to work
· Assist colleagues, customers and suppliers in resolving security issues and escalating where necessary.
Shipping Coordinator – Position Remuneration
· Monday to Friday - 8:30am – 17:30pm
· Salary £28,000 - £32,000
· 28 holiday days (including bank holidays)
· Parking on Site
· Pension Scheme
· Hybrid Working (after Probation)
