The Role
Bolton Plastic Components Ltd are recruiting Shift Supervisors.
The aim of this role is to lead and support an established team, to achieve set key performance objectives.
The role offers many opportunities and is part of our long term aspirations to improve overall performance and quality.
Responsibilities
- To Maintain the general supervision and discipline of the personnel under their control. When they are the Senior person the back shifts they will be responsible for the discipline of all shift personnel working in the factory.
- Communicate effectively with the other shift Supervisors to work as a coherent team to achieve consistency in all matters, including 'smooth shift handovers'.
- Prioritise and progress maintenance issues.
- To provide production figures by shift by day to the Manufacturing Manager and to review the daily/weekly departments performance, identifying areas for improvement activity and working as a team on overall department efficiency.
- To maintain familiarity with company documentation and procedures. To intepret fairly and impartially the compant's labour policy. To investigate labour queries as they arise in a timely manner, when necessary and in conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager and/or HR Manager. To adhere to and follow the company Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure.
Requirements
- Experience in monitoring, reporting and delegating.
- Strong and effective communication with teams and other departments across the business.
- People Management (Performance, Training & Absence, etc).
- Self motivated and proactive.
- Flexible Approach.
- An eye for detail and continuous improvement mentality.
- Recognised Supervisor / Line Manager Qualification would be desirable.
Reporting Structure
Reporting to Manufacturing Manager
Working Hours
37.5 hours per week (3 shift rotating pattern - Weekly Rotation)
Nights - 22:00 - 06:00, Afternoons - 14:00 - 22:00, Mornings - 06:00 - 14:00.
Weekend working may be required.
