Position: Shift Production Line Operators
1, MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
1. To support the shift team leader in the effective operation of the Production Line to achieve the output for the day and ensure it meets with company standards.
2. Ensure adequate supply of raw material is regularly positioned to meet daily production and shipping needs.
2. KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
1. Operate the Production Line under the direction of the Shift Team Leader.
2. Perform pre-start safety checks and fill in associated paperwork, where applicable.
3. Start, stop, operate and reset all production equipment with the designated production area.
4. Supports the inspection process by using measuring equipment and gauges to inspect performed work.
5. Conduct quality inspections, visual checks of defects and validate quality of the line and the materials used, in accordance with quality procedures.
6. Ensure the smooth and efficient running of machines.
7. Work and contribute to improving quality standards.
8. Comply with company policies and procedures.
9. Ability to contribute to meeting daily/weekly production line goals.
10. Reports all equipment faults, safety hazards, near misses or accidents to the supervisor for immediate attention.
11. Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
12. Maintain a clean and safe workplace
13. Tracks and records results, downtime and QC status to computerized record systems to assure accuracy.
14. Collaborates with the Shift Team Leader to maintain required efficiencies; moving product throughout the production floor and resolves discrepancies.
15. Ensures activities are conducted in accordance with all safety standards.
16. Perform routine maintenance tasks, adjustments and repairs when necessary to improve performance and as directed by the Shift Team Leader or Production / Maintenance Manager when required.
17. Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
18. Cover break and cover holidays when required.
19. Flexible to working overtime as and when the business needs require.
20. Ability to work flexible working shift patterns such as nights and weekends.
3, SKILLS NEEDED
1. Previous general labour experience.
2. A level / GCSE / NCQ desirable but not essential.
3. Extrusion experience would be desirable but not essential.
4. Self-starter that is able to work in an independent manner.
5. Maintains a current forklift license.
6. Ability to lift up to 25Kg, and stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
7. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
8. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and measuring equipment.
9. Keep abreast of the latest trends/developments in Quality, Safety, and Environmental practices through regular formal training.
10. Good computer skills required.
