EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW


What a fantastic opportunity to join us at Minworth Treatment Works as a Shift Operator. You’ll be part of a dynamic team, predominantly monitoring, operating, and completing some first line maintenance on Production assets, ASP, sludge conditioning, digestion and THP.


Your role will be to have holistic knowledge of the site, monitor plant via SCADA and respond to alarms during your shift and to liaise with production, Bio and maintenance teams. The role will include lone working therefore, you need to be self-motivated and be able to assess issues and make decisions on how to deal with them safely, while maintaining compliance with support out of hours with the stand-by teams.

THP (thermal hydrolysis process) will give an opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:


  • Monitor plant via SCADA/MMI systems and react to phone alarms.
  • Carry out first line maintenance on site assets.
  • Understand how site processes work to allow correct decision making and next steps to be taken.
  • First contact out of hours with customer issues.
  • Produce end of shift report.
  • Monitor final effluent out of hour’s record results.
  • Input process data onto IT data bases.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE


Having an excellent organisation skill and be efficient with the capability of completing a number of tasks at once whilst working well under pressure would be advantageous. We are looking for a candidate who can work unsupervised and within a team framework to meet deadlines and good communication skills. Having the ability to analyse information to spot potential problems would be beneficial and working shifts would be desirable. A full UK driving licence will be required for the role.
