Overview
With earnings of c£40,000 per annum, this is a great opportunity to be part of the Warehouse Management team!
In the Shift Manger role, you will successfully lead a warehouse shift, ensuring an effective warehouse operation is maintained and Key Performance Indicators are achieved.
Shifts are Monday to Friday with weekly rotating of earlies, mids and lates plus working every 3rd Saturday from 6am to 2.30pm as overtime.
How will you contribute?
- Responsible for the day to day management, ongoing development and motivation of a Warehouse Team across a shift, ensuring that they consistently meet productivity and quality objectives
- Responsible for the consistent achievement of Key Performance Indicators and delivering a high level of on time, on cost customer service across the shift
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies and practices and encourage a ‘Safety First’ culture across your shift
- Maintain a positive working relationship with the Customer and be aware of their business needs and objectives
- Implement and maintain best practice value to all aspects of the business with a view to continually improving working practice, profit and efficiency for your shift.
- Lead, motivate, train and develop your shift’s Warehouse team and ensure consistent full utilization of resources is achieved.
- Complete regular performance reviews with your direct reports and implement improvement action plans where required.
- Conduct disciplinary, grievance and appeal meetings in line with current policies as required, ensuring HR are involved in the process.
- Carry out recruitment activities for your shift in accordance with current policy.
- Ensure your shift team receive appropriate training in order to successfully perform in their role.
What will you bring?
- Manages a shift team including, Devanners, PPT & FLT Drivers, Lead Loaders, Tally Clerks and Co-Pack Leader
- Liaises with internal departments to resolve customer issues
- PC literate (Microsoft Word and Excel, email)
- Management experience in a warehouse operation
- Detailed understanding of warehouse management systems.
- Customer focused
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions
- Must be able to work rotational shifts of earlies, mid shift and lates.
