Howdens are recruiting an Operations Shift Manager to join our team based at our manufacturing site in Runcorn, Cheshire. As a business that is undergoing an exciting period of growth, this role offers you a unique opportunity to drive and influence positive change across our growing operation.
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of Operators and Key Operators to ensure targets are met in line with the required quality, cost, delivery, people and health and safety metrics to support all our assembly processes.
As an Operations Manager, you will need to engage extensively with your teams, build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and have a proven track record of implementing continuous improvement and leading teams to success.
What you’ll be doing…
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of your team members and providing feedback and effective training where required
- Checking service issues and planning daily production to ensure warehouse demand is satisfied
- Maintaining safety within your area of responsibility, complying with safety controls through effective auditing, reviewing SOPs and RAs and conducting accident / near miss investigations when necessary
- Analysing KPI and OEE data to identify productivity issues and helping to form solutions and maximise opportunities for improvement
- Liaising with the maintenance departments to reduce unplanned machine downtime
- Facilitating continuous improvement workshops

Do you have?
