Bay Shift Manager

British Airways Engineering Wales is home to British Airways Maintenance Cardiff’s world class engineering team, and we would like to welcome applications for Shift Manager role within our Production team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a hugely skilled and experienced team. You will be responsible for leading and developing a large team of Engineers, Technicians and Mechanics to deliver safety dependable and high-quality major maintenance and cabin modifications inputs on 777 and 787 aircraft.
Working in the impressive purpose-built Aircraft Maintenance facility located on Cardiff International Airport, you’ll be an integral part of BAMC’s management team, working closely with all internal departments and British Airways Engineering. We are looking for an experienced people leader who can demonstrate:
- Leadership under pressure and ability to remain composed in a regulated and operational environment
- The ability to think and act both strategically and tactically to support the operation
- Agility and the ability to lead conceptually across the business whilst taking your teams with you
- Strong communication skills with an ability to engage with and influence at all levels
- Collaboration across the wider business to achieve shared goals and delivery of the aircrafts
As part of the management team, you will be accountable for:
- Leading a large team and leading through others to ensure the effective use of our resource. You will work collaboratively with planning, compliance and the people team to ensure the quality, health and safety of our colleagues at all times whilst supporting the delivery of the key people priorities
- Strategic long term resource and skills management with a focus on coaching and development alongside business load and capacity
- Supporting the Production Manager and the wider shift manager team
If you are interested in becoming part of our talented team and want to be considered for the role, we do need you to meet the criteria below.
- Proven track record in leading teams, delivering through others and people management experience
- Sound knowledge of employee relations and employment legislation
- Engineering degree/experience desirable but not essential
- IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent qualification is desirable

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £54,000.00-£58,000.00 per year
