Up to 100 people are going to look to you
There have been some really exciting things going on behind the scenes here. Argos now combines an online ordering and home delivery model to rival the biggest competitors with handy collection points in Sainsbury’s stores, too.
We’re now opening a number of new Argos Local Fulfilment Centres (LFCs) nationwide to ensure that customers receive their orders when and how they prefer. But what does this mean for you?
As a Sainsbury’s colleague in one of these brand new Argos warehouses, it’s about keeping everything going, making sure it’s all fluid, and providing on-going coaching and feedback that helps everyone in your shift improve. Since that could be up to 100 colleagues, you’ll have a lot of people to inspire.
What makes this different?
We’re closer to our customers in every way; there’s instant feedback and instant satisfaction, and no need to wait to see what impact the service has made. It means there has to be a strong customer focus right across the team — starting from the top. You’ll also land and embed local and central improvement initiatives and deliver site KPI performances.
What you’ll do
You’ll develop the team all the time, and review workload activity, stock volume and demand within your shift. That will be even more important when it comes to responding to customer demands, volume fluctuations and an all-round changing environment — you’ll be flexing the resource to meet customer needs and our own targets.
Talent development will be down to you, as you identify a succession pipeline for the future. In addition, you’ll lead by example to create a customer-centric culture, champion wellbeing and never leave issues unresolved.
What you’ll need
You’ll bring us a sound knowledge of warehouse/retail operations, and be familiar with both multi-drop and customer final mile delivery. Listening and communicating will be an integral part of the way you make decisions, and you’ll believe in making sure the team understands how their actions impact on service and business results.
You should enjoy engaging and motivating colleagues at all levels, coaching and managing your team, and advocating diversity and inclusion. And of course, you’ll put customer outcomes first.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll really benefit from the supportive, family feel and helpful management. What’s more, as you’ll be part of a Sainsbury’s-owned multi-brand retailer, there are many ways you could develop your career across different parts of the business.
Alongside this, we also offer a great range of benefits for all our colleagues, including:
- Discount card (after 4 weeks) for you and a second user that gives you 10% off on most items in Sainsburys, Argos and Habitat (Discount is increased at Sainsburys to 15% every payday for 5 days plus 15% at Argos on every payday)
- Food and hot drinks is provided in colleague areas in all our Local Fulfilment Centres
- Generous holiday entitlement, maternity and paternity leave.
- Pension – we’ll match 4-7% of your pension contributions.
- Sainsbury’s share scheme – build up an investment at discounted rates
- Wellbeing support – access to emotional support, counselling, legal and financial advice
- Colleague networks – link with like-minded people to help fulfil your potential.
- Our Cycle to Work scheme gives you the opportunity to hire a new bike and cycling equipment, whilst saving on tax and NI.
- Special offers on gym memberships, restaurants, holidays, retail vouchers and more.
