Job description
We are currently looking for someone to join our SHEQ team, based in Leicester, as the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Administrator to assist in delivering, monitoring and coordination of SHEQ practices, reporting to the SHEQ Manager.
The successful candidate will be joining a leading Environmental Services business operating a comprehensive fleet of vehicles, with operations to include multiple recycling facilities offering our customers more environmentally friendly alternatives for the disposal of their waste to reduce waste to landfill.
We have dedicated sites that are specific for handling different types of waste streams enabling us to achieve phenomenal recycling figures with residual waste going for waste to energy (WTE), refuse derived fuels (RDF) and micro biological treatments (MBT), with only a minimal amount of the waste we handle ending up in Landfill.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
- To act as a central point of contact between SHEQ, operations, commercial and sustainability, human resources, and external bodies such as customers and certification bodies as required by this role.
- To coordinate the effective communication of a customer focused Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality management system to interested external parties.
- To carry out the timely completion and delivery of all elements of Customer Pre-Qualification Questionnaires.
- To deliver the Safety Schemes in Procurement and other customer focused certification required elements.
- To support Operations in the review and SHEQ approval of suppliers
- To populate and maintain the approved supplier’s database.
- To Maintain Internet Management System elements as required.
- To ensure the appropriate document control of all management system documents.
- To register and monitor management system change requests.
- To ensure that all Adverse Events are recorded, and the relevant tools completed.
- To assist in the compilation and delivery of the annual audit and assessment schedule.
- To track and ensure close out of all SHEQ actions.
- To provide support to the SHEQ Manager and Advisors as requested
- To attend and contribute to departmental meetings as required.
- Ad-hoc admin duties as part of the Head Office team.
- Assist in collating data for monthly reports.
- Provide an overview of annual certification and training needs for equipment & personnel.
- Compile and manage risk register on a routine basis.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications -
- GCSE Grade 'C' or equivalent in English and Maths. IOSH qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
- Understanding of Health & Safety practices in the workplace.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT applications (including MS Office package).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Experience of working within a customer service environment.
- Experience of working with software applications.
- The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- The ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively.

Salary: £13,234.00-£13,546.00 per year
