My client, a leading cabling company based in South London, are currently seeking a Sheet Metal Worker/Fabricator to join their team on a full time and permament basis, with a salary of between £22,000 and £24,000 per annum.

Sheet-metal Assembly Operative
My client is an award winning manufacturer of standard and bespoke cable management solutions based in South London.
This is a small, entrepreneurial business in which you will have to think on your feet. Therefore, someone who enjoys a busy day and being the go-to person will do well.
This is a new role in the company and is an opportunity for the candidate with the right skills and attitude to build a successful career in metal fabrication and manufacturing. Based in the companys factory near Croydon, you will work with the small but highly-skilled production team.
The role is based in my clients South London factory and applicants must live locally, ideally within a 30 minute commute.
Main duties
Maintain safe and clean working environment
Fabricate and assemble metal boxes and cable management products
Sheet metal and fabrication activities include measuring using a vernier, spot welding, drilling, bandsaw, notching, polishing, cleaning, linishing, guillotine, flypress and manual tooling
Use correct equipment to fabricate and assemble all parts
Work closely with your team Liaise proactively with your Supervisor and team to keep on track and address issues
Ideally, you will have the following approach, experience and ambitions
Minimum 1-3 years in a manufacturing and metal fabrication environment
Experience of fabrication within building products sector
Professional, well-organised and proactive member of the team
Focus on accuracy and attention to detail

10% bonus if sales company sales target achieved (usually 10 months out of 12)

39 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday: 8am-4.30; Friday 8am-3.30pm
No weekends
Do you have overtime, if so, is it paid any different ?
Yes, when business demands it.
If required, it tends to be 2 hours per day for 4 days per week. Rate is x1.3 unless work every day and the full 8 hours per week = x1.5.
What breaks will the operative have, and do you pay for breaks?
30 minute break for lunch at 13.00 - unpaid
10 minute break at 10am - paid
What kind of metal are you working with?
Stainless steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, brass
Will the operative need to use any machinery?
