We're looking for caring and compassionate nurses (RGNs) to join us as Sexual Offence Exmainer to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault. Each region has its own dedicated SARC (sexual assault referral centre) which offers support and practical help to anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault. Our services are co-funded by the police and the NHS. The nursing team are responsible for providing a dedicated 24/7 service for forensic and acute health needs and requirements. As a Sexual Offence Exmainer, you'll receive full training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post. This is a vacancy of 40 hours per week. Shift patterns will be 9am - 5pm, 5pm - 1am, and 1am - 9am. The Sexual Offence Exmainer will be responsible for (duties will include, but are not limited to): providing telephone advice to patients and colleagues. undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding. using a camera system to document injuries. sharing information where appropriate. producing individual management plans. supporting the continued quality improvement of the service. forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits. Please note, all successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, two satisfactory references, and Police vetting checks. Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel may be a requirement of the role across Kent, Surrey and Sussex, therefore a UK driving licence is required for this role.
