Job description
The shift pattern for this post is varying between hours 8.30am -8pm.
The post holder will provide sexual health advising resource to support the management of public health functions within Sandyford Services across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
With expert knowledge and understanding of sexually transmitted infections and blood borne viruses the post holder will be responsible for managing results and appropriate treatment and referral for patients when required.
Demonstrating an understanding of public health and preventative interventions in sexual health, the post holder will be responsible for discussing, documenting and following up partner notification work with relevant patients and contacts.
Within a context of health education and promotion, the post holder will be able to demonstrate motivational interviewing or counselling skills in discussing safer sex and risk reduction with individuals at higher risk of infection transmission.
The post holder will work in partnership with their Team lead and sexual heath advising colleagues, the multi-professional team, Sandyford service users as well as other professionals providing care within NHS GGC and other health boards when required.
