We’re not your average business, but if you’re willing to work hard, get stuck in and have some fun along the way, then we’d love to welcome you to our team.We are seeking a Sewing Operative to work within the Sewing Department, Leeds.The successful candidate will produce Borders & Panels for our mattresses, using a sewing machine.Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6am – 4pmReporting to the Leadership team, the Sewing Operative will be able to understand and work with production tickets, whilst checking the specification is correct.Key Responsibilities:Understand production ticketsPrepare Borders & Panels, whilst checking the spec is correct to the production ticketVisually check finished items to ensure 100% accuracy, right first timeRemove any flaws and record the data - inform Technical Lead OperativesMonitor and record scrap/yield.Discuss complications or assembly line slow downs with Team Leader and come up with solutions for increased productivityMaintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Key Skills & Experience:Sewing experience preferred but not essentialEnthusiastic and flexible approach to react on a day-to-day basis to all requests,Ability to self-manage your time during the working day.Attention to detail and the ability to think clearly and work under pressure.Ability to multi-task, work to deadlines and prioritise workload to deliver expectations and tasks.Excellent communication skillsEssential attributes:Hungry - a manageable and sustainable commitment in doing a job well and going above and beyond when it is truly required.Smart - asks good questions, listens to what others are saying and stays engaged in conversations intently.Humility - shares credit, emphasises team over self, and defines success collectively rather than individuallyJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £10.90 per hourExpected hours: 39 per weekBenefits:Casual dressCompany eventsCompany pensionCycle to work schemeEmployee discountFree parkingStore discountSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Leeds: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Work Location: In person
