Job description
The Youth Offending Service is a diverse service delivering a variety of interventions to 8-17 year olds who are engaged in both voluntary and court ordered plans. The sessional workers will support the wider team to deliver interventions and offer support to young people and their families to reduce the risk of involvement in anti-social or offending behaviour.

Pay Details: Grade 6, SCP 14 £25409 p.a. pro rata

Description:
We are looking to employ a number of casual workers with a diverse skill base to meet the needs of the young people and families we serve. The work to be undertaken could involve both 1:1 and group work as well as mentoring and general support tasks. In certain situations this could also include engaging with large groups of young people in holiday activities or residentials.
About you
You will need:
- 1 – 2 years of experience of working with children or young people at risk of social exclusion in a formal setting i.e Youth Work, education, social care
- Knowledge and understanding of child development
- Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work on own and as a team member under pressure
- Ability to engage and motivate young people & children
- Ability to negotiate and liaise with individuals and other agencies
