JOB DETAILS
Our Service Technicians are the heart and soul of our team. We are looking for Service Technicians of all levels. As a Service Technician, you’ll perform vehicle repairs to dealer and factory standards. Your attention to detail and passion for striving to deliver the best customer experience will make you a valuable asset to our Service Team.

Starting Pay: $30 - 50/hr
Schedule Overview:
- Monday - Friday (8 AM to 5 PM) / 8-hour working days, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime can be expected.
Typical Day:
- Receive repair orders from Team Leader on the computer terminal and take the vehicle to stall areas.
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Inform Team Leader and Service Consultant if the vehicle is down awaiting parts and pursue special ordering of parts, if appropriate. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Inform Service Consultant immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised. Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by the customer. Document work performed on each vehicle on the Repair Order using the concern, cause, and correction format.
- Tell the technician's story as clearly as possible on your terminal. This is what the customer will see and how the billing will be determined.
- Road test vehicles to quality check work performed as required, keeping in mind that customers' vehicles should not be used for personal errands and should not be operated illegally or unsafely. Seat belts must be worn at all times.
- Continually monitor the status of each vehicle and inform the Service Consultant.
- Escalate "wait" jobs as much as possible. Monitors promised times and inform Service Consultant if there will be a problem meeting a promising time as soon as it becomes apparent.
- Perform a road test, check the service history and factory technical information, and talk directly to customers, if necessary.
- Estimate repair costs for Service Consultants.
TOP SKILLS NEEDED
Advanced knowledge of the inner workings of automobiles and systems.
Advanced knowledge of automobile diagnostics including but not limited to using a diagnostic tree, and performing testing procedures to discover the cause, and needed repairs to correct a customer’s complaint.
Knowledge and skill of how to perform a thorough inspection on a vehicle for the purpose of finding service and repairs needed based on the miles and condition of the vehicle.
Ability and knowledge of how to use a computer and diagnostic tools to diagnose vehicles, look up repair instructions, and access appropriate software.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Maintains quality standards by performing repairs to network standards.
- Understands and utilizes the Volkswagen production flow process.
- Has a basic understanding of the entire collision repair process.
- Has an organized and systematic approach to work processes evidenced by efficiency and productivity rankings at or above network standards
- Education, training, and/or state/national certifications should clearly demonstrate the possession of the competencies stated above.
- High School degree or equivalent preferred
- Other certifications or licenses as required by state law
- ASE certification commensurate with experience
- Minimum two years experience in automotive repair or service; four or more years preferred
- Tools required to perform repairs and services
- Valid driver's license
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
- All Service Technicians must be trained and certified to handle Freon.
- All Service Technicians must be legally and technically able to safely operate company and customer-owned vehicles.
- All Service Technicians must be insured by the company insurance carrier.
- A service Technician is to accurately and promptly report all time at work and time working on a specific vehicle.
