Job description
Set up, operate, and maintain automated mailing equipment, including Pitney Bowes 8300 inserter/folder. Distributes mail pieces to DSHS internal and external customers, partners, and stakeholders. Create mailing address labels that conform to customer requirements using established software programs. Set up equipment to meet customer mail requirements for 1st class mail, 1st class pre-sort, or pre-sort standard. Daily cleaning and maintenance of automated mailing equipment and work area, consisting of sweeping, dusting, greasing, and using manufacturer-specified cleaning solvents. Making minor repairs to equipment as needed. Making minor repairs to equipment as required. Documenting recording daily and monthly job data, including the number of pieces and related costs. Assists with maintaining work areas, monitoring and inventorying supply levels, including envelopes, ink, rollers, paper, labels, boxes, mail trays, and other office supplies. May be assigned additional duties to assist the Program Support Operations Team in achieving its goals.
Knowledge of general mail operations. General knowledge of office procedures and administrative functions. Skill in operating automated administrative machinery. Skill in using standard office equipment, including computers, Multi-function Document machines (Copiers/Printers). Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work cooperatively with teammates, customers, partners, and stakeholders. Ability to stand for long periods, performing repetitive motions. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs of paper and other mail supplies, boxes, mail trays, etc... Ability to operate material handling equipment including but not limited to two-wheeled hand carts and pallet jacks.
