We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Product Supervisor to join our Service team, to oversee and manage all service and technical related aspects and activities related to the distinct product group. The purpose of the role in a ‘technical’ context is to focus on the Kubota CE Construction range and to comprehensively offer Kubota staff and its customer’s specialist expertise both mechanically and functionally and effectively serve as the Kubota Construction ‘product Champion.
The position is based in Thame, Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.00pm but will also involve some travel to dealers and direct accounts.
Here are some of the key elements of the role:
- To collaborate closely with the CE Manager in defining product training strategy and its delivery.
- Be responsible for developing courses, lesson plans, literature, presentations, visual aids, machinery requirements, student course tests and for arranging the delivery of all service and technical training.
- To serve as the ‘lead’ instructor and provide a ‘Train the Trainer’ function for other Kubota staff when introducing new training courses or products.
- To help produce an annual ‘Training Summary’ with Kubota management team and other stake holders, providing key training statistics and trends with any necessary changes, requirements, and recommendations for the future advancement to Service Training activity.
- To provide information, training, in field support directly to an Aftersales Dealer Manager when required. In this regard, demonstrating efficient, well organised, and effective problem-solving skills, providing and setting an example to other members of the Kubota team, Dealers and users.
- To collect, analyse and react upon Factories Service Bulletins, Kubota QA requests and product Campaigns, planning, organising, executing, and overseeing the required action on behalf of Kubota (UK) Limited through to completion.
- To create and distribute technical literature, including training notes, service bulletins, bulletin register and similar documents required to support Kubota dealers and customers.
- To assist CE Project Manager with field issue and activities.
- To assist and offer advice on warranty concerns and claims when required and offer support in adjudication to the warranty group or an Aftersales Dealer Manager.
The skills and experience required for the role are:
- Will have served a recognized trade apprenticeship or be able to demonstrate sufficient experience in the Construction service industry in the role of ‘Service Engineer’.
- Will have achieved a recognized qualification in Construction Plant, such as CITB/NVQ Plant Mechanic.
- Extensive knowledge of Kubota Excavator products
- Excellent knowledge of competitor’s product range in comparison to Kubota.
- Self-motivated and able to work to high standards and tight deadlines.
- Strong training and instructional skills.
- Proactive planning ability.
- Excellent communication both internally and externally.
- Creative and adaptive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and a flexible approach to accommodate deadlines.
- Time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Full understanding & observance of departmental ISO9000:2000 procedures and processes.
- Good computer skills i.e. Microsoft/SAP.
