ABOUT THE HOSPITAL:
Harley Street Specialist Hospital is an 11,100 square foot, six floor hospital building located in the heart of the Harley Street medical district. We boast the following:
- A full operating suite, recovery bay and six recovery pods on the lower ground floor
- A full operating suite, recovery bay with three beds and a private room on the ground floor
- A minor ops suite, pharmacy and imaging suite on the first floor
- Nine beautiful, newly refurbished consulting rooms throughout the hospital
We offer day surgery across a range of specialties, predominantly orthopaedic, plastic, cosmetic and others.
We have a team of specialist consultants on hand to provide expert care for patients seeking treatment in: orthopaedics (knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist, spine); oral maxillofacial; gynaecology; ophthalmology; gastroenterology and urology.
We have surgical first assistant available on site for all our surgeons.
HSSH has a strict inclusion and exclusion policy and we try to treat ASA1/2 patients only. All surgeries tend to be day-case but we are able to accommodate overnight stays.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Due to continued rapid growth within the business an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Imaging Department.
This is a permanent role reporting directly to the Clinical Services Manger - Outpatients, you will be responsible for managing the Radiography and Imaging Department.
You will be working in a small team and will be required to oversee other members of staff, within the Imaging Department, you will also take an active role in their development and on-going training.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of the department, working in line with clinical service delivery, with a high degree of professionalism; ensuring effective deployment of staff and provision of a high quality, responsive, patient focused service
- To ensure that high quality, responsive Diagnostic Imaging Services are delivered to meet the needs of all customers and the business
- To maintain ongoing dialogue with Consultant Radiologists on all clinical aspects of Imaging service delivery and support the Clinical Services Manager in ensuring sessional use is maximised
- To train and develop junior members of the team
- To provide support to the Clinical Services Manager by attending meetings (minimum annual) with Radiologists to discuss clinical and operational issues
- Working in collaboration with the business in line with their core values and objectives
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Good spoken and written English
- GCSE Maths and English at grades A – C/or equivalent
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and any other relevant packages
- Degree in Diagnostic Radiography
- HCPC registered radiographer
- Knowledge of IRMER and IRR17 Regulations
- Aware of College of Radiographers and HCPC Code of Conduct / Accountability
- 5 years of working within supervisory role within an imaging department
- A wide general radiographic background with expertise in one or more specialised area
- Experience of working within the NHS/ private healthcare sector

- Ability to resolve complaints where appropriate in a timely manner
- Ability to make sound judgements of situations which require investigation, interpretation and comparison of a range of options
- Able to manage day to day staffing issues and contribute to team’s succession planning
- Ability to predict and react swiftly to a problem, making informed decisions

COVID-19 considerations:
We have put a number of measures in place, to ensure the safety of our staff and also provide routine testing and daily screening. All staff and visitors are required to wear a mask unless exempt. Common surfaces are sanitised regularly.

Licence/Certification:
