Service & Production Support Manager required for a well-established international company in Automation based in Barnsley. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be degree served or similar in an electronics engineering related subject. To provide daily customer service support management and coordination of production activities in support of the sale and installation of Electronics and Software to customers within the Waste & Logistics and Construction industries
Service & Production Support Manager - Electronic Systems Position Overview
Provide first line point of contact for customer service support, training and technical expertise and resolution. Offer prompt trouble shooting, problem solving, data analysis and technical assistance to service engineers, production team, customers and colleagues. Provide installation advice. Advise directors of any higher level technical, project, software, engineering or IT issues.
Assist Directors and Sales Team by providing primary customer service support and deployment of field service engineers, project hardware and configuration ensuring compatibility thorough. Ensure configurations are fully compatible to customer requirements and/or manage any open points direct with Higher level Hardware/Software support or developers. Learn and understand our hardware and Software products and how they fit within the industry, including compared to our competitors in order to advise suitability in the project and support in the aftersales areas of your responsibilities
Manage the service department as tier 1 technical support including support email, customer contacts and provide follow ups including field service deployment if required in a timely matter.
Development functions-
Assist Directors with a proactive Service sales approach forming relationships with customer base and up selling products, enhanced Service-Warranty package and services available.
Project management functions-
Take joint ownership of all projects, file management and issues and liaise/follow up as required with customers and colleagues around the world to ensure the project management process runs smoothly and professionally to customer expectations.
Take shared ownership with our project manager of our internal project management process and core document system including continually developing this from an efficiency and quality point of view to further enhance its usefulness. Assist with project management tasks from Customer order in through to installation QC out check handing back to Sales for official hand over. Provide Customer hardware/software training as part of the project mobilisation.
Participate in early installation design planning in support of the Installation team to ensure standardisation, continuity, efficiency and productivity.
Training of workshop and field service staff in all areas of Product and new developments regarding installations and components including diagnostics and problem solving. Provide assistance with service and installation documentation. Give ongoing assistance and advice for all internal/external Waste queries.
With the approval of management, undertake training commensurate for the role.
Demonstrating flexibility, take on additional tasks related to the role as requested by management.
Maintain confidentiality as well as professional conduct and manner at all times.
Provide on-going feedback from customers to your manager regarding manufacturing, quality assurance and service aspects of the systems and components.
