Job description
Sheffield is one of the greenest cities in the Country with 4130 Hectares of green space managed across 752 sites by the Parks and Countryside Service. Sheffield’s residents report that parks and green spaces are of huge importance to them with almost all sites seeing increased use throughout the pandemic. The ways in which we use, maintain, and manage our green spaces is changing and the Council is looking to recruit to this role to lead and support these changes. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, and innovative leader to take on this interesting and valuable role.
This post
- Leads the delivery of effective parks and public realm operations for the Service.
- Collaborates with Senior Management colleagues
- Directs the management team in delivering efficient grounds maintenance services
- Is responsible for strategic planning and the operational day-to-day delivery for all parks and public realm maintenance.
You will be
- Qualified in a relevant discipline with at least 3 years’ experience in a relevant field.
- Creative, able to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders and elected representatives demonstrate proven leadership, project skills and financial management.
This role is part of a progressive and dedicated Management Team. Making our services more efficient and effective and supporting our service to make the environmental changes that are required over the coming years are going to be imperative for Parks and Countryside, making this role key for the service and the users of our green spaces.
