Salary: £27,376 - £30,651 per annum
Every Refugee deserves to be in touch with their loved ones. Are you a manager who's passionate about making a positive difference to people in crisis as a result of their migration status and can help restore contact between separated families?
We have an exciting opportunity for an International Family Tracing Service Manager to join our Restoring Family Links team. We provide practical casework, and emotional support to people separated from family members by armed conflict, disaster or migration.
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to manage and develop our front-line services with an initial focus on establishing our links with the Ukrainian community across the UK. You'll have responsibility for recruiting, and line managing a team of service coordinators to deliver quality remote casework across the UK, in a surge capacity, supporting local teams wherever needs are greatest. You will have responsibility for internal performance and resource management and will act as an escalation point for complex casework and service delivery issues. You’ll work as part of the wider management team to proactively develop and promote the service, including developing local partnerships and networks, and carrying out effective external, sector, engagement including with the Ukraine Diaspora around the UK.
Behind every great cause, there is a great team making it happen
Every year thousands of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants arrive in the UK with little support, money, or opportunities. Sometimes people don't even have the means to find and contact their loved ones back home. It's our job to do what we can to help.
Our team provides casework and emotional support to these vulnerable people. Many of the people we support are in situations of destitution; experiencing social isolation, trauma and family separation while trying to navigate complex welfare and legal systems.
The International Family Tracing team are all connected by the common goal of supporting people who have experienced family separation to help reconnect with missing family members. You’ll work collaboratively with the area team, the wider directorate, and external partners, to ensure our service users are provided with high quality, safe, person-centred support.
This role might be for you if…
- You have strong service management skills, in conjunction with experience of delivering client-focused services to vulnerable people with complex needs
- You’re a competent people manager and know how to get the best out of a team
- You have knowledge of rights and entitlements of people affected by asylum and immigration issues
- You have excellent communication and relationship building skills, and can develop and maintain internal and external partnerships and networks
- You’ll also be a great team worker and can actively work alongside others to plan, develop and deliver front line services
- You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can prioritise responsibilities in line with agreed business objectives
- Your'e able to speak Ukrainian or Russian (desirable)
Closing date for applications is 23.59 on the 4th May 2023 with interviews expected to take place shortly after
