Workshop Manager, Chester Site
Working hours = Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm,
2 Saturday mornings per month.
Competitive Salary - £38,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience .
Are you a skilled and experienced Workshop Manager seeking an exciting new opportunity?
We are an independent Servicing & Repair workshop that specialise in Sports & Prestige vehicles offering a range of services including servicing, repairs, remapping, as well as an onsite service facility.
We are looking to recruit a full time Workshop Manager who will be based in Tattenhall. This is a key role within our business. Automotive background is a must, you will understand the importance of getting involved in all departments of the business.
Applicants must be reliable and need to be able to demonstrate their enthusiasm, self-motivation and communication skills withing the work environment. Workshop Manager works to ensure we provide our customers with the highest possible levels of service
The ability to work on your own initiative is crucial to this role and to be able to work without constant supervision. Ideally you will have an outstanding work ethic and be able to lead from the front and inspire your colleagues to 'raise the bar' and exceed their full potential
Previous knowledge of the motor trade and a knowledge of cars and their repairs is a MUST as is a full driving licence.
Duties to include: –
- Coordinate and schedule workshop activities, including job assignments, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Creating quotations
- Manage a team of skilled technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Liaising with suppliers, maintaining stock and ordering supplies
- Liaising with our sister companies chauffeur manager to book in vehicles
- Report to our Managing director
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
- Identify areas for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or a similar role within the automotive, engineering, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of workshop operations, including repairs, maintenance, and equipment utilisation.
- Proficiency in using workshop management software and other relevant computer applications.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach to work.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications would be advantageous.
