Through our diverse range of services, we aim to empower individuals, reduce stigma, and promote mental well-being within our community.
Mid Cheshire Mind is at an exciting time in its history. Moving to new premises in the centre of Winsford, our well-established charity is looking to consolidate and grow service provision to enable us to support the mental wellbeing of even more local people.
We provide a range of services including 1:1 counselling and peer support groups. This role will provide an excellent opportunity for a qualified practitioner to develop their leadership and management skills whilst maintaining professional practice.

Core Duties
- Coordinate, manage and lead a safe, professional and accessible mental wellbeing service.
- Ensure services are run efficiently and flexibly, with the needs of our clients at the fore.
- Manage the staff team overall, which includes employees, volunteers and student placement counsellors.
- Be the overall safeguarding lead for Mid Cheshire Mind.
- Undertake facilities management to ensure our premises are well maintained and welcoming for staff, volunteers and clients.
- Report to trustees and commissioners on the progress of the service, including reports on waiting lists and lead times for our services.
- Develop and review appropriate policies and procedures to ensure our services continue to be delivered in line with the latest legislation and best practice.
- Assist in the development of feasibility studies and business plans for new services and funding opportunities.
- Assist in the development of a volunteer strategy.
- Hold a caseload of clients to maintain practice skills.
- Undertake an audit of the current services for quality and CPD purposes.
- Have oversight of clinical supervision arrangements for the team. Ideally to undertake some clinical supervision (dependent on qualification) with some volunteer/placement staff.
- Establish regular feedback mechanisms for service users and to ensure service outcomes are effectively monitored, evaluated, and reported to key stakeholders.
- Establish and monitor funded projects to ensure they are delivered within the required financial and quality parameters.
- Subject to ongoing demand be responsible for organising and recruiting placement staff including selection and induction, involving other staff as needed.
- Ensure that there is adequate coverage of staff and volunteers during the charity’s opening hours.
- Help develop new ideas to improve the service, in consultation with staff, service users, other managers and other agencies where appropriate.
- Promote and publicise Mid Cheshire Mind among relevant partners, agencies, commissioners, and potential clients.
- Undertake any relevant training.
- Ensure the service operates in line with the BACP Codes of Ethics and Mind’s quality standards.
- Be an active participant in the wider Mind Federation – attending training, forums and events as appropriate.
- Any other duties in order to maintain an efficient and client friendly service.
General Responsibilities

· Work flexibly, being prepared to perform other duties commensurate with the role which may include new areas of operation following consultation
· Work alongside and ensure active service user participation in all aspects of work including design, implementation and monitoring of activities.
· Actively liaise with, and seek support from, colleagues from national Mind and across the network.
Person Specification
Diploma in Counselling (or equivalent) is essential
Supervision qualification is desirable

Salary: £32,000.00 per year
