As the Service Lead you will be responsible for leading and managing the Quit Squad's North Lancashire based service, working in partnership with our parent provider at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. This includes advising the Trust and local authorities on appropriate measures to reduce harm from tobacco and support the vision of a Smokefree Lancashire, whilst working collaboratively with Fylde Coast partners to create a tobacco free Fylde Coast. Key to this role will be managing the sustained presence of NHS funded smoking cessation services across Lancashire, with focused work in developing strong working relationships with Primary Care colleagues through Integrated Care Partnerships, ensuring high quality of service delivery across the locality. The post holder will provide tobacco dependency interventions and advice to service users; and support the training of staff across community-based Trust services and the Primary Care Network. The post holder will also contribute to the wider role of the team in the promotion, development, monitoring, and evaluation of smokefree services across the Fylde Coast.

It is the vision of Fylde Coast partners to create a tobacco free Fylde Coast and in turn remove all the health harms associated with tobacco addiction. Key to this is supporting all partners to ensure that helping people to stop smoking and recognising smoking as an addiction is a collective and collaborative effort.

The NHS Long Term Plan identifies smoking as one of the top five risk factors that cause premature deaths in England. As such, the NHS is investing in frontline services to tackle tobacco dependence for all inpatients, pregnant women and their partners and high-risk outpatient service by 2023/24.

Quit Squad offers an integrated, safe, effective and person-centred tobacco addiction and treatment service, providing high quality care through a combination of pharmacotherapy and psychological support, contributing to improving the health of residents across Lancashire and tackling health inequalities as part of the wider Fylde Coast smoking cessation pathway.
