Service Engineer Carnforth, England
Job description
We are looking for a skilled engineer to join our team in Carnforth. As a service engineer with Scot JCB, you will visit a variety of customer sites throughout the area to carry out maintenance, repairs and services on our customers machines to a high standard.
This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise and develop your engineering skills in a varied and interesting role.
Salary: £33,000 plus competitive overtime rates and bonus

Key duties and responsibilities:
· Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification
· Attending breakdowns and fault finding on machines
· Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet
· Submitting daily timesheets and job cards
· Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department
· Working closely with the service supervisor
· Helping to train and mentor apprentice engineers
· Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required - in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and any regulations affecting their use
· Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment
The ideal candidate will have:
· Relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant / HGV / Light Vehicle etc (essential)
Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
· The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment
· Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
· Good IT skills
· A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
