Hours: 37 hours per week, 3 shift rotations (8-4, 9-5 or 10-6)
Location: Ullenwood nr Cheltenham and remotely from home depending on shift patterns
We have an exciting opportunity to join National Star's customer-focussed IT Services Team. We wish to recruit an enthusiastic Service Desk Engineer to play a key role, contributing towards the frontline support of our IT Services.
At National Star we are continuing to expand our existing core IT as well as implementing new technology and innovations both on site and public cloud. If you are keen to be at the cutting edge, to develop new skills and get your hands on the latest technology this could be the role for you!
If you have more than two years' experience in operational IT and can work in a logical and consistent manner, have solid technical understanding, get in touch.
Principal tasks
Provide first and second line support and fault resolution for IT services, including:
Office 365
Computer hardware and peripherals including desktops, laptops, print devices, Apple Macs, tablets
‘Bring you own devices’ including phones, tablets, laptops, Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices (AAC), games consoles, TVs, NAS devices, Blu-ray players
Network infrastructure, including wired, wireless, ADSL, VPNs, mobile (e.g. 3/4G)
Telephony, including digital, VOIP and mobile
AV equipment, including projectors, display screens, PAs, interactive whiteboards
You will need to be the kind of person who can work independently to manage your own workloads to meet multiple deadlines, whilst working well under pressure. The IT team prides itself on meeting Key Performance Indicators and making a difference to students and staff.
It goes without saying that you will be customer-focussed, proactive and with a positive approach, with the ability to explain in plain English what is required.

This role is based at our Ullenwood campus, with the potential to work remotely, depending on shift systems. You may also be required to occasionally travel to our other sites in Hereford, Gloucester, Malvern and Wales.
