Assists schools in providing a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning as outlined in the Strategic Plan and the Student Rights, Responsibilities and Character Development Handbook.

• Provides, as requested, expertise and support services to principals/administrators and teachers to ensure policy compliance and help them increase school safety and achievement of district priorities.
• Serves as a supporting and contributing member of the Learning Community team.
• Informs Learning Community Superintendent and Executive Director through written and oral reports regarding Student Support Services to the Learning Community.
• Leads professional development and training in restorative practices and appropriate student interventions for all assistant principals and deans of students.
• Prepares all reports for the School Board on matters relating to the discipline office and the preparation of documents regarding full exclusion expulsions; may compose and finalize Superintendent decision letters.
• Prepares and shares weekly reports with peers and the SDBS department for consistency in decisions among the learning communities for infractions of the Code of Student Conduct.
• Serves as the primary area contact and school/area liaison with alternative education programs/schools.
• Assists Learning Community Superintendent with analyzing student discipline issues and data impacting student achievement levels.
• Serves as liaison with appropriate central office staff and collaborates in developing learning community, school and individual student plans of action.
• Assists Learning Community Superintendent with planning and directing a system of feedback and evaluation of the effectiveness of the Learning Community, support staff services and systems as perceived by the principals and teachers.
• Provides technical assistance, as requested, on Student Rights, Responsibilities and Character Development Handbook issues ensuring compliance.
• Coordinates and conducts Disciplinary Team Meetings (DTMs).
• Performs other relevant duties and responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director of Student Discipline and Behavior Support and Learning Community Superintendent.
