Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of our passionate team, this role as a Service Assistant plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service. Do you enjoy helping people and providing a great service?

From welcoming visitors on arrival within our admissions building and car park to bringing our stories to life within our historic house, you will ensure people get the best out of their day. This role will directly report to our Welcome Manager, and work closely with the Collections and House Team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service.

We are offering five roles at the following contracted hours:

  • 1 x 37.5 hours per week
  • 2 x 27.5 hours per week
  • 2 x 16 hours per week.

These hours will be slightly reduced during our winter months, but pay is annualised to be paid equally each month across the year. Hours to be discussed further at interview.

The Salary: £9.60 per hour

Duration: Fixed Term Contract until end February 2024.

Seaton Delaval Hall has recently undergone a major transformation; with £7.8 million invested in conservation and developing the visitor experience, including the new Brewhouse Café, Delaval Playdium play area, collections rehang and creative interpretation.

What you'll be doing:Visitors are a vital part of what we do. As the Service Assistant it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day. In this role, you’ll be;

  • Working alongside a big staff team and volunteers in delivering outstanding customer service across the property
  • Welcoming and admitting visitors to the property, providing information and orientation around site.
  • Working within the car park to help on busy days
  • Working on our property tills selling admission tickets, processing payments of activities and events and promoting our Growing Support strategy (Memberships/Donations/Fundraising)
  • Welcoming visitors into our newly opened house offer, including Central Hall, Basement and West Wing featuring playful interpretation schemes.
  • Supporting in presentation standards across site
  • Promote events, offers, products and benefits of actively supporting the National Trust
  • Support in the delivery of events at times throughout the year
  • Support across the property when required.
