We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible apprentice to join our high performing UK IT Team as a UK Incident and Problem Analyst Apprentice. This role would provide a great foundation for someone looking to start a career in IT Service Management.
The programme will include regular training and development events with other apprentices from across the business to support your personal development. You’ll have regular structured feedback sessions, and you will be assigned your own buddy to help you settle into your day-to-day role.
Role Overview
In this role, you will work closely with the Incident and Problem Manager and SIG key business stakeholders and service partners to develop your skills in the delivery of the Incident and Problem practices into the SIG UK business.
You will gain experience in supporting the management of major incidents end to end including its continuous improvement, communications, and escalations. You will be able to work well under pressure, whilst maintaining efficiency and professionalism.
We will provide you with the training to understand the effective methods of problem management, issues and risk management, and collation of trending data and root cause analysis activities so that you can collaborate with our IT resolver groups to support effective problem management. In doing so, you will provide essential support to ensure that branches can continue with their daily activity and provide a quality service to SIG customers.
This role will work closely alongside the Service Operations Manager, Enterprise Application Services Manager, IT Change and Transition and Service Supplier Delivery Managers. The Role will also be a key liaison and supporting presence to our Service Desk capability and you will gain knowledge in the production of reports and dashboards to support these areas. This will give you the learning to identify key areas of trend analysis for continual improvement/automation, for internal business support and external partners/suppliers.
Although this is an Incident and Problem role, it will provide you with a great foundation across the whole IT technology stack incorporating cloud-based technologies, communication and collaboration tools, data engineering and networks.
We will provide all the necessary systems training, alongside the apprenticeship qualifications, provided you can demonstrate that you are competent with computer technology, MS Office and in addition to above, can show:
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and objections

You will work between 08:30 and 17:30 Monday to Friday. The expectation is that the successful candidate will be in the office 3 days a week.
