Job description
Responsibilities include greeting and serving guests, providing detailed information on menus, multi-tasking various FOH duties, providing an all-round guest experience and collecting the bill.
1 year min working in this role and ideally with knowledge of fine dining
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a high standard of personal grooming at all times.
- Provide a quick, efficient, friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
- Promote sales and build up a rapport with all guests.
- Assist the restaurant team in the building of an efficient department, by taking an active interest in the employees’ welfare, safety and professional development.
- Be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability assigned, including redeployment to alternative areas if required to meet the needs of the business and guest service requirements.
- Contribute to regular departmental communications meetings.
- Carry out any reasonable request made by a manager.
- Ensure that the restaurant is set according to standards/ policies.
- Report training needs of individuals and / or team to manager on duty.
- Arrive at work for a rostered shift and be punctual, always following company absence and lateness procedures if unable to do so.
- Report any personnel issues to the management team that may affect your ability to execute your duties to the agreed company standards.
- Adhere to and comply with cleaning schedules and opening / closing checklists to the agreed company standard.
- Be fully compliant to current legislation regarding hygiene, food safety, health and safety and licensing law as they apply to the restaurant.
- Carry out and implement the agreed company sequence of service.
- Control a section during service, taking orders and issuing bills.
- Be positive and responsive to any guest’s request and exceed expectations.
- Inform supervisors and managers of any complaints/ comments/ perceived issues from guests and staff and deal with where appropriate.
