Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Radiological Response Emergency Management System(RREMS) Team.

This is a new radiological monitoring system, replacing 2 legacy systems, that monitor radiological plumes across the UK.

As we have entered business-as-usual we are seeking a Senior Executive Officer with project management experience to join the Service Operation Team (SOT). The SOT team govern the RREMS application and it's suppliers, whilst the Senior Project Support Officer will provide key elements of ownership and support to the team’s ongoing capability with regards to stakeholder engagement.

Person specification

To manage and coordinate RREMS budget in alignment with financial lead and wider team input, which includes supporting business planning, spending reviews and budget control.

To coordinate, supervise, and support the Head of Service Delivery and wider SOT team on core activities including:

  • Knowledge and information management.
  • Governance.
  • Planning.
  • Risk management.
  • Reporting.
  • Stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • SharePoint management - Identify and manage stakeholder relationships and need for senior level support.
  • Manage internal and external relationships as appropriate.
  • Assurance

Skills and Experience

Essential skills

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Able to make confident judgements, taking the initiative and seeking input from others were required to enable decision making by senior responsible owner.
  • Able to delegate to others, providing regular feedback and advice where needed.
  • Lead on tasks with autonomy and minimal direction.
  • Experience of financial management and tracking delivery of a budget.
  • Can plan and coordinate complex workloads, prioritising and delivering outputs against agreed timelines in a fast- paced and changeable working environment. Proactively able to plan activities and dependencies across the team in the short, medium, and long term, across multiple stakeholders.
  • Engaged with assurance reviews and supported action on recommendations.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral), and able to confidently advise and voice opinions with colleagues.
  • Bring motivation and passion to the role.
  • Strong IT skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn
quickly.

Desirable (not essential):
  • Relevant project delivery qualifications or equivalent experience (willing to learn).
  • We will consider a policy professional who can demonstrate equivalent skills and experience in programme and project management.
  • Finance or contract management experience.
