Salary range - The budgeted salary range for this role is set at £42,000 - £53,500
Contract type - This position is a permanent contract
Working pattern/flexible working - We know flexible working is important to you, and it is important to us too. The Partnership has adopted a blended working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The SEO team aim for around 1 day a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings but again, are flexible on this. This role is based at our Victoria campus.
About the role:
As the SEO Manager, you will be responsible for proactively planning and supporting with SEO strategy, implementation and optimisation across digital touchpoints for John Lewis including offsite, onpage and site architecture. This position will support the delivery of SEO within the business, combining a clear vision for SEO across all of Online Selling functions and driving sales through effective use of SEO.
This role would suit someone that has a great attention to detail and is comfortable working to the guidelines and principles of our brand. An absolute SEO enthusiast who can confidently translate technical jargon into clear reasons why we should be an SEO-first business. This role would suit a technically capable, process-driven influencer who is a creative thinker, with a strong attention to detail and willing to support the SEO agenda across multiple teams in a high pressure environment.
Key responsibilities:
Uses all aspects of SEO to drive market share and cost effective sales. Understands the key levers, tools and reports to drive incremental gains. Always ensures that the brand is accurately reflected in the marketing activity undertaken.
Represents and influences SEO requirements across campaign projects across the business to ensure implementations are SEO friendly and deliver benefit from project initiation.
Accountable for delivering a robust solution for capturing insights, analysing results and cascading knowledge to the relevant teams to demonstrate the omnichannel value of SEO activities to wider stakeholders.
Create the conditions for all Partners to thrive, make their best contribution and achieve their potential.
Appreciate what different life experiences bring to the Partnership and the value this adds to unbiased and smarter decision making.
Set the tone, context and outcomes for the team with the voice of the customer at the heart.

Essential skills you’ll need:
SEO experience in Technical as well as working knowledge of both onsite and offsite campaigns
SEO experience in E-Commerce and Javascript SEO Best Practice.
Experienced in Reporting Tools such as Data Studio.
Experienced knowledge of the latest developments within SEO
Experience of leading a SEO team’s workstream, coaching and development
Experience of multiple stakeholder management
Desirable skills you’ll have:
Experience and understanding of client side Product & developer team workflows.
Experience in LogFile Analysis and Enterprise Crawlers.
Experience of wider digital marketing channels and how they influence SEO and vice versa, specifically Social, Email, Display and PPC
Strong online experience within retail
Strong experience in content and outreach campaigns
