About Coram

We are Coram - the first children’s charity, helping more than 1 million children, young people and families every year. We support children and young people from infancy to independence, creating positive change that lasts a lifetime.

Established by Royal Charter in 1739 as The Foundling Hospital, today we are a group of specialist organisations, working in the UK and around the world. Our mission is to develop, deliver and promote best practice in the support of children and young people.

Coram has built a position of insight, influence and reach, by working closely with other organisations and other sectors; universities and government; professionals and families.

About the Fundraising Team

Coram’sFundraising team raises £8M in revenue funding each year, and works across the Coram Group. Our friendly Trusts and Statutory Team has 5 members and raises £2M a year from Trusts and Foundations.

About the role

This role will contribute to the team’s collective trust fundraising target, reporting to the Head of Trusts and Statutory, and working closely with colleagues across the whole Coram Group. It offers the chance to develop your skills in a varied and complex environment with the support of a friendly and highly experienced team around you. As well as those with fundraising or not-for-profit sector experience, we are very open to applications from those with transferable skills from business development, sales and marketing, journalism or similar.

Main duties

You will manage a portfolio of charitable trusts, foundations and livery companies, seeking multi-year funding opportunities where appropriate, working with existing donors and identifying new opportunities. You will particularly focus on securing funds from mid-level funders (£10-40k per year) but also lead on a number of larger ones.

This will involve liaising with Coram’s service teams across all the charities in the Group to source case studies and to create high-quality applications that package and communicate Coram’s work, engaging with staff to develop outcomes frameworks, project plans and budgets, and stewarding donors effectively through relationship building and reporting about the vital work we do.

Closing date: 5pm 13th March 2023.

Interview date: 21 March 2023

Coram is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We actively encourage applicants from Asian, African, Caribbean and other minority ethnic backgrounds to join our teams. Whilst we have a diverse team we recognise we are a predominantly white workforce and are genuinely committed to encouraging candidates from diverse communities in order to improve the services to the children and families we help.

We are committed to the safeguarding of children and where appropriate will require the successful applicant to undertake a check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
