Kenyon Road Haulage, part of the OTIF Group are an established haulier. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Transport Planner. You will be responsible for the efficient planning of deliveries and collections through our contracted collection and delivery network partners. Exploring and planning the best and most cost effective routes to ensure delivery times are made in accordance with customer SLA’s.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively plan robust cost efficient routes for drivers on vehicles
• Strong transport planning skills
• Organise your designated a team of drivers, vehicles and service network, to ensure optimum service delivery and profitability.
• Produce manifests for each driver daily.
• Ensure Driver legislation is adhered to at all times in accordance with UK and EU regulations.
• Maintain a forward looking philosophy within a flexible teamwork based environment and ensure that a positive working culture is in place and remains in place by proper and systematic planning
• Manage expectations of the Company to ensure that drivers are effectively using incab technology and obtain electronic PODs and other related paperwork.
• Liaise with Drivers and customers as necessary to ensure deliveries and collected are in accordance with the customer SLA’s.
• Communicate any complaints or comments made by the customer and report any underlying reason where known and liaise with Line Manager as necessary.
• Act as an ambassador for the Company when speaking with customers and create an excellent impression of the Company.
• Action any other elements to fulfil the operational needs of the business.
• Inform the Transport Manager of any DVSA vehicle stops.

Person Specification

• Demonstrable knowledge of EU/GB statutory driver working time rules
• Proven experience in transport planning
• Possess the ability to demonstrate good UK geographical knowledge.
• Experience of working with a diverse customer base
• Polite, courteous, respectful and helpful.
• Good Written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work flexibility to meet customer demand
• Have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people and customers and drivers
• Displays initiative and tenacity in your approach to problem solving
• Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
• CPC qualification or willing to work towards would be beneficial.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £28,500.00 per year
