Job description
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior to Principal Game Designer to join the team behind Total War, Alien: Isolation and Halo Wars 2, to create thrilling game experiences on a new project being built in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). The project is based at our headquarters in Horsham studio, in the heart of West Sussex, however this role may be based either in Horsham, or at CA North in Newcastle, UK. This can be discussed upon application.
The successful candidate will be joining a new project in its early prototyping phase, iterating rapidly to create compelling gameplay, and collaborating with a small team initially to realise the vision. The role will be highly varied, with the right designer able to work fluidly
This is a broad role in terms of experience, and we will consider mid-level candidates, as well as senior or principal level.
Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote within country of employment for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times.
This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of 1 day every 2 weeks, in our Horsham or Newcastle studio. We will consider remote working for exceptional candidates. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be happy to take on many varied game design tasks, addressing the day-to-day and week-to-week needs of a fast-moving, and rapidly evolving prototype.
You’ll be expected to communicate with a small (but growing) multi-disciplinary team, working with project leadership and peers to quickly realise high-quality, immersive gameplay.
As the team grows and the project progresses there will be opportunities to specialise and shape the role.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
