The RNLI College in Poole is looking for full-time Hotel Receptionist to join our busy and thriving team.
RNLI College is the home of RNLI training, where willing lifeboat volunteers from across the UK and Ireland are trained to become able crew members. It’s also a 60 bedroom hotel, conference venue, wedding venue and event venue like no other.
Role: permanent, full-time 37.5 hrs a week, shifts between 7am till 10pm, 5 days a week including evenings and weekends.
Salary: £10.50 ph
The ideal candidate will have previous reception experience and have excellent customer service skills. Excellent telephone manner is desirable and proficient in Microsoft office applications.
Opera hotel system knowledge is ideal but not essential.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast passed environment where no 2 days are the same and enjoy being a front facing member of the team. As well as being a team player.
Key elements of the role:
· To work within the reception team at the RNLI
· To assist with any requirements or requests made by clients and their guests with regard to special requirements, room set up, audio visual, and any other information and pass on the relevant people
· To answer the switchboard/telephone in a professional and personable manner
· Answering in a timely manner all emails received daily
· To report and where possible take action about customers complaints and compliments
· To operate & maintain effective use of computerised booking & billing system
· Creating reservation on the hotel management system (Opera)
· Checking in and checking out guest into the property ensuring all details are capture that are required.
· Promote good relationships with all staff and customers
· Be responsible for cash handling and reconciliation and enduring that all amounts balance daily
· To positively promote the company in both general conduct and standards, be an ambassador of the RNLI
