Job summary
The successful applicant will be employed within the Receipt and Despatch department, part of the busy Supply Chain. Role includes supervising a team of Storekeepers. Ensure equipment entering the department is processed in a timely manner and forwarding to Squadrons/departments to maintain station operational capability. Supervise the movement of all assets leaving the department for external destinations. Ensure all assets are packed in accordance with correct and current guidelines. Ensure all paperwork is made available to enable prompt onward movement of assets. Act as Dangerous Goods trained specialist within the Despatch department. Identify items classified as Dangerous Goods and raise all relevant paperwork needed to ensure onward movement via Road/Air in accordance with current policy and regulations. Physically prepare and package all Dangerous Goods consignments in accordance with current policy and regulations to ensure safe conveyance to destination via Road/Air. Assisting with any other duties that may arise within the Supply Chain.
Navy Command are currently going through a review and there is a possibility that within 6-12 months the role applied for may be subject to change.

Job description
The Skill Zone 3 (SZ3) Senior Storekeeper is part of the R&D department that sits within the Supply Chain, Logistics department of RNAS Culdrose. This post is responsible for the following key areas:
Supervise the Skill Zone 2 (SZ2) Storekeepers working within the R&D department.
- Ensuring that all regulations appertaining to the receipt, issue, handling, preservation, stowage and security of the stores are properly and consistently applied.
- Maintaining the integrity of the SC account by completing all transactions promptly using appropriate IT or manual accounting systems.
- Supervise all external deliveries entering the department. Ensuring staff have all tools available to them to ensure correct processes are followed to allow onward movement of critical assets.
- Supervise the movement of all assets leaving the department for external destinations. Ensure all assets are packed in accordance with correct and current guidelines. Ensure all paperwork is made available to enable prompt onward movement of assets.
- Attend two-week residential course to become trained and proficient in the movement of goods classified as dangerous by Road or Air. Remain current on all changes to policy and regulations. Renew certification’s when required, 3 years Air/5 years Road.
- Act as Dangerous Goods trained specialist within the Despatch department.
- Identify items classified as Dangerous Goods and raise all relevant paperwork needed to ensure onward movement via Road/Air in accordance with current policy and regulations.
- Physically prepare and package all Dangerous Goods consignments in accordance with current policy and regulations to ensure safe conveyance to destination via Road/Air.
- Liaise with and select the appropriate internal/external transport provider to ensure the asset reaches its destination to meet its Required Delivery Date (RDD) and provides value for money.
- Supervise the movement of large assets internally, using all mechanical handling aids available and liaising with the MT department if unable to move in-house.
- Ensure all mechanical handling aids are made available for routine checks/servicings.
- Maintenance of the building security, cleanliness and complying with Health and Safety regulations.
- Comply with all Station and Supply Chain Health & Safety regulations.
- Liaise with and assist other departments within the Supply Chain, providing cover to control workflows.
Person specification
The Skill Zone 3 (SZ3) Senior Storekeeper Receipts & Despatch (R&D) is responsible for the ordering, efficient accounting and storekeeping of the R&D department. The SZ3 is also responsible for the continuity of the R&D department, making sure the supervision and cover of staff is maintained in the event of leave and sickness. The SZ3 Senior Storekeeper R&D is required to undertake duties, commensurate with their grade in other areas within the Logistics Supply Chain (SC) Department as directed by Logistics Officer, Merlin Force Logistics Officer (LO MFLO) and Logistics Officer Main Stores Group (LO MSG). They are responsible for ensuring their professional knowledge of store keeping and stores accounting procedures remain current.
