About Impact Ops

Impact Ops is a new organization offering operations support to projects in the effective altruism (EA) community and wider social impact space. Our services include non-profit consultancy, finance, HR, and optimization. Our aim is to be a catalyst for good in the world by enabling and supporting high-impact charities and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Since we’re a small team, we’ll all be involved in many different aspects of launching a startup. You’ll be our first finance-specific hire. You’ll be in charge of owning our internal finance systems, as well as some of the following tasks for our clients:

  • Reviewing financial data and ensuring the correct recording of transactions
  • Designing automations for routine bookkeeping tasks
  • Cross referencing bank statements and accounting records with internal controls
  • Ensuring compliance with the regulatory and tax requirements in the relevant jurisdictions
  • Processing payments, like invoices, and expense reimbursements
  • Producing and analyzing financial reports on a monthly basis
  • Setting up and administering a company card system
  • Working on budgets for us and our clients

About You:

You’ll likely:

  • Have an operations mindset – you’re good at identifying issues, prioritizing, generating solutions, and efficiently implementing new ideas.
  • Have a high attention to detail: Identifying errors and correcting them.
  • Love to build systems that run exceptionally smoothly, and have promising ideas for how we can improve upon our current processes.
  • Be personable and able to communicate professionally and clearly with various stakeholders and clients, both in writing and verbally.
  • Be passionate about ensuring precision, speed, and accuracy in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Feel comfortable owning projects and managing tasks, and thrive in autonomous work environments.
  • Have previous work experience in finance-related jobs.
  • Have an interest in effective altruism.

Salary

Your starting salary range is £45,000 to £55,000, depending on prior experience and location. There may be flexibility in salary for exceptional candidates with significant experience.
