From humble beginnings in 2005, this family run business has been developing the Basset Down landscape and has evolved into a modern multipurpose public facility, hosting avid golfers, footgolfers, Padel Tennis fans and regular passionate diners.
Since our extension in 2021, we have grown the brand into a gorgeous eatery which is multipurpose for our client base. Whether you’re eating out for an intimate dining experience for two, proposing a business function, hungry after a competitive 18 holes or celebrating the perfect day, our catering ability has a diverse breadth and versatility to accommodate both regular and new customers.
We have a variety of dining areas from a colourful and vibrant restaurant to a cosy and warming lounge setting. Or if you prefer, sit on our gorgeous patio/balcony which scopes the picturesque views over Basset Down; we pride ourselves in the venue and the experience our patrons have. Last year over 65% of our customers attended purely for a dining experience.

With an exciting 2024 vision and expansive growth, we are recruiting for a passionate and driven Senior Sous Chef.
The Role
Our kitchen is modern and well equipped. Our Head Chef is incredibly passionate about what he does and open to new ideas. He has had experience working with well known chefs, helping to deliver two rosettes in one year and being recognised in the Big Food Guide. His ethos is simple: make mistakes, learn, and provide new ideas. Nothing bad came from a good idea.
This role requires the right candidate to take responsibility for:
- Ensuring high attention to detail across all prep work
- Suggest new recipes, menu choices and promotions.
- Understanding the local market and produce, suggest new relationships and ways of working.
- Run an orderly and efficient pass in the absence of the Head Chef and take full responsibility of the kitchen.
- Place orders to providers in a timely manner, being mindful of competitive pricing.
- Be inquisitive and creative.
- Keep a calm and driven response to all levels of service.
- Take risks with menu choices and combinations.
Profile
As a Senior Sous Chef, you would have at least 5 years’ experience of:
- - Running the pass
- - Contributing to the building of new menus
- - Multi skilled across pastry, butchery & garnish prep
- - Developing relationships with food wholesalers
- - Insight and practical knowledge of costings, margins and deliverables
Salary + Benefits
- - £32,500-£35,000
- - No split shifts
- - 5 out of 7 days (Only three nights a week service)
- - 48 hour week
