Effective assessment and support planning in complex cases are crucial and it will be up to you to take the lead in these situations. Your leadership role will also include supervising the practice and performance of social workers and adult support co-ordinators in the team. Using your experience, you be a creative coach in supervision, enable practice improvements and provide valuable feedback through staff appraisal.

As you’ll be working with adults, both those in need of care and support services, along with their informal carers, it will be crucial that you work in partnership with them in order to establish needs and ensure they are met.

This isn’t just about delivering care, it’s about providing service users with choice and control of their lives and empowering independence.
