Social media is an incredibly powerful communications channel. As a member of the Social Team, you will be a champion for ASOS’s social channels (inclusive of our venture brands ie. Topshop), ensuring we consistently publish great native content, developing our creative approach and focusing on innovation on existing and emerging platforms.
The Social Team, which you will be a part of, sits within the marketing department is responsible for managing and creating content for ASOS’s branded social presences inclusive of Topshop, Topman and Collusion.
The Role
We are seeking a digital and content marketing expert to support in leading the global social strategy for ASOS.
The ideal candidate should be an excellent creative thinker, passionate about customer and data [measurement being key] and equally comfortable across technical and analytical problem solving.
Alongside another Senior Manager (Sportswear and Face + Body) you will manage the social team focused on the fashion vertical of the business. You will need to work closely and confidently with multiple teams within marketing and across ASOS as an organisation. You will need to be social, creative and commercially orientated and have a proven track record of clearly demonstrating social impact on business objectives… ie social must create business impact.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead/ deliver the global social strategy, alongside the Head of Social and Senior Social Manager (Sportswear and Face+Body) and work with your direct team on the planning and execution of all social content
- Work with key sponsors in the Marketing function to ensure content is aligned to commercial and cultural calendars to ensure ASOS has a perceived focus supporting the business at any one time.
- Work collaboratively with the the Creative department to deliver world class, highly innovative and inherently social campaigns
- Maintain relationships with the major global social platforms
- Ensure that our ASOS tone of voice is adhered to and that editorial feedback through social strategy is given to ensure ASOS evolves with the audience and is sympathetic to any given social movement. Community management through CC also key here
- Continuously monitor and suggest solutions for content at scale, efficiently increasing content volume whilst ensuring content is own-able.
- Support the process between social and Customer Care to ensure that all social mentions of ASOS are reviewed and responded to as appropriate. Ensuring SLAs set are appropriate and met, and that tone and content is on-brand and customer-centric.
- Champion a culture of planning content and distribution in relation to audiences, ensuring we always give our content the best possible chance of connecting with people
- Help champion a culture of optimisation; sharing learnings from activities (both good and bad) and working with the Social Analytics team, Brand Marketing and the Head of Social Media to ensure the right KPIs and targets are in place.
- Work with the Customer Growth and Talent team to ensure global influencer/ creator and affiliate communications/ processes and cadence aligns to overall social strategy and tone of voice
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies ensuring we are at the forefront of innovation and testing
- Adopt a test and learn approach, understanding at which point something should be rolled out more broadly and at which point it should be abandoned.
- Develop bespoke social media strategies for all major launches – owned campaigns, brand launches including BAU content, franchises and channels.
- Working alongside the Head of Social be the primary point of contact for our social platforms
- Retain focus on ‘social-first’ culture: creative reviews, knowledge sharing, trial new tools and techniques, review of performance (Inc. competitors).
- Keep the rest of the team up-to-date with beta and partnership opportunities with the social platforms.
- Budget management across the Social Team.
- Support and develop the careers of your direct reports, ensuring they are always learning and getting the most out of their roles.
Who We'd Like to Meet
- Worked in data orientated organisations and able to confidently communicate customer and channel data at an executive level
- Proven track record of inspiring creativity
- High degree of personal and professional familiarity with Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube etc.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy with relevant experience helping to define and build brands
- Held similar positions and managed large social/content teams for the most innovative brands or news organisations
- Experience working with large scale content, budgets and ability to work efficiently and effectively with them.
- Strong creative skills
- Fantastic leadership skills
- Refined fashion sense and solid understanding of the 20 something customer
- Passionate about social media, digital trends, and editorial
- Driven self-starter, with an entrepreneurial mindset, who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical, and able to both learn from and utilise data to build strategy and tell stories
- Strong communication skills and collaborative personality
- Positive and team oriented
