Job Overview
We are looking to welcome an experienced, professional, and personable addition to the Proact Security Team via the role of Senior Security Operations Analyst. This is a fantastic career opportunity for a proactive, highly motivated individual. This position is predominantly remote, from anywhere in the UK. There is a requirement to work from your local office 2-4 days per month for networking and collaboration purposes.
Job Responsibilities
- Threat Hunting
- Incident Response
- Contact, collaboration, and escalation point for:
- SOC teams (Security Operations and Security Engineering)
- Service Operations Teams (Networking, Infrastructure, Service Desk etc.)
- Other Proact Teams (Service Delivery, Service Design, Developers etc.)
- Senior process and technical escalation point for the Security Operations Analysts
- Individual and collaborative projects and tasks
- Responsibilities cover of Security Operations Analysts if volume of work or absence requires the need – leading by example
- Shift based
- 12-hour length (negotiable)
- 4 on 4 off pattern (negotiable)
- Training and certifications relevant to current and future products and services
- Process and policy development and improvement
Desired Experience
- Cyber Security Related Honours Degree
- At least 2 Years’ experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC)
- This experience will be complementary to the existing junior and senior members of the Proact SOC
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects
- Technical based (e.g., SIEM tuning)
- Process based (e.g., Incident response)
- Policy based (e.g., Audits)
- Change control / management
- Ensuring that changes to a product or system are introduced in a controlled and coordinated manner
- Both following this best practice yourself and ensuring its conformance company-wide
Personal skills
- Good self-motivation and the ability to motivate others
- Ability to multi-task, working across a range of tasks with various timelines and priorities
- Inversely, able to mono-task - tuning out distractions - when a top priority is identified
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented in planning, implementation, documentation, and follow-up
- The ability to work completely independently or with a team
- Reliable, on-time, personable, and customer-focused
- Poised and patient during phone-based tech support
- Comfortable working in person as well as remotely
- Energetic, able to switch gears quickly from task to task
- Desire to learn
