The Role
The Senior Security Advisor will need to provide Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (TVRA), security master planning, security design strategy, and General Security Advisor (GSA) duties (as defined by RSES). This will include security threat and risk advice, security planning, and the development of security strategies for projects across TT’s portfolio, both for small and multi-disciplinary projects. Liaise directly to clients with regional responsibility for projects and co-ordinate with colleagues in Thornton Tomasetti in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia, traveling to support this work accordingly.
You will need a strong background in security risk assessment and operational security across private and public sectors as well as general knowledge of physical and technical security systems and their installation. Experience with UK and International security regulation, standards, codes and best practice related to physical protective security and design is required.
Knowledge of assessing security risk and developing effective security strategies across multiple projects, sectors and geographic locations and be able to demonstrate your competency at interview.
The role can be based in either our Romsey or London offices.
Responsibilities
Conduct and advise on Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessments in accordance with various security risk methodologies based on ISO 31000:2018 Guidelines and ISO 31010:2019 Risk assessment techniques.
Provide Security Needs Assessments.
Provide Crime Impact Statements.
Develop design basis threats through research of open-source information.
Develop security strategies and security master planning based on security principles, national and international statutory requirements and industry best practice.
Develop and write security policies, standards, operational security plans, standard operating procedures and post assignment instructions for in-use facilities security operations.
Work with and support the wider TT team on technical deliverables.
Provide outline / scheme design level technical security advice.
Attend, contribute to and lead client meetings.
Report writing and presentation delivery.
Manage projects to budget and programme.
Undertake bidding and tender response process.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject, or equivalent experience and certified professional development
All candidates must be able to obtain security clearance.
6 years minimum relevant experience, including: threat, risk, strategy and planning;
Membership of a professional body is required and professional grade membership of the RSES, Security Institute or other appropriate accreditation scheme in the appropriate specialism is preferred and will be supported if not already attained.
